Three Dutch universities: Leiden, Groningen and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam have joined forces again this year to organize the Pre-doctoral programme in Indonesia for admitted and future Indonesia PhD candidates at Dutch universities.

The delegation from Leiden University Medical Center, led by Dean Marlies Reinders, visited Surabaya, Makassar, and Jakarta in October 2025 to explore opportunities for research and academic cooperation. This visit marks an important step in strengthening international ties and fostering long-term collaboration between LUMC with the medical faculties of Airlangga University, Hasanuddin University, Universitas Indonesia, and Atma Jaya Catholic University. The representatives of the Office of Leiden University in Indonesia were involved in the process of preparing the visit, coordinating with partners, and assisting the delegation during the activities in Makassar, Surabaya, and Jakarta.
