Studying in Leiden University with LPDP Scholarship 2026

The Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan or LPDP) has officially released the list of international universities and study programs for 2026, eligible to receive scholarship funding. The list serves as a guide for prospective applicants in determining their study choices.

In Leiden University, LPDP funding is available for up to 186 students on master’s level and 39 PhD candidacy. The full list of Leiden programmes which can be applied with LPDP scholarship can be found in this link.

The list also features the new High-Tech Innovation (HTI) specialisation in several MSc programmes of Leiden Science. A special co-funding mechanism is agreed by the faculty and LPDP as it will expedite benefits for both, students for the faculty and for Indonesia is talents Hi-tech Innovation. Talents that the government envision will support Indonesia’s plan to upscale knowledge and boost its strategic industry sectors, including semiconductor manufacturing.

To align with the country’s national planning, LPDP prioritises scholarship distribution to study fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). To achieve this goal, 80% of LPDP funding in 2026 will be allocated for STEM, while the remaining 20% is reserved for socio-humanities studies. However, Leiden stood out as more than 30% scholarship are earmarked for its socio-humanities studies, enabling more Indonesian students to enter the field. We believe this funding addition to the field of socio-humanities signals Indonesia’s trust in Leiden University’s expertise in research, teachings, and most importantly the relevance of socio-humanities studies for the country.
