Indonesia: Study at Leiden University with LPDP Scholarship Phase II in 2026

The Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan, LPDP) has opened the registration for the LPDP Scholarship Phase II 2026 from 30 June to 31 July. The scholarships are offered in two main categories: strategic industries or STEM (study fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and socio humanities studies or SHARE.

LPDP in 2026 is focused on supporting the development of strategic industries as economic growth drivers towards Golden Indonesia Vision 2045. At least 80 percent of the scholarship allocation will be focused on STEM and strategic industry-related fields, while a maximum of 20 percent will be allocated to SHARE as part of holistic and sustainable human development.

LPDP also released the list of international universities and study programmes eligible to receive scholarship funding, as a guide for prospective applicants in determining their study choices. In this scheme LPDP offers 213 MA and 45 PhD Scholarships for Leiden University. The full list of study programmes which can be applied with LPDP scholarship can be found in this link.

The list features the High-Tech Innovation (HTI) specialisation in several MSc programmes of Leiden Science. A special co-funding mechanism is agreed by the faculty and LPDP as it will expedite benefits for both, students for the faculty and for Indonesia is talents Hi-tech Innovation.

In addition, two MA double degree programmes - Critical Heritage Studies and Anthropology, and joint PhD programme initiated by Leiden University and Gadjah Mada University are also featured on this latest list.

Since its inception in 2013, LPDP has awarded 58,749 scholarships to Indonesian students in master's, doctoral, specialist, and non-degree programmes. More than 34,000 have graduated, while 18,728 are still studying at universities in Indonesia and abroad. This number does not include scholarship awardees through collaborative programmes with various Indonesian ministries and institutions.
