Futuring Heritage

Funded by NWO, this project explores how environmental conservation initiatives in the Eastern Himalayas intersect with the cultural expectations of ‘indigenous’ ethno-linguistic minorities. Focusing on human–more than human relationships and their implications for the future (‘futuring’), the project examines contested interpretations of nature and broader cultural understandings of space. By engaging with these entanglements, it seeks to develop new pathways toward socially and culturally inclusive approaches to environmental conservation.
