Entanglements of Islamic Charity

Radhika's research cuts across scales and sites: from the national to the transnational, from Mumbai to Dar es Salaam, from London, Geneva, and Dubai to south Asia and the Gulf, to analyse Islamic charity's entanglements with western humanitarianism, philanthropy, and state welfare regimes. These entanglements are visible in the (dis)articulations of conceptions of humanity and human dignity, in discourses of 'doing good', from institutional motifs to digital campaigns, in systems of accountability and transparency, to imaginaries of crises and futurity horizons.
