Leiden Law School
Sustainability in education
The university aims at offering all students the opportunity to learn about sustainability topics and issues in a way that is relevant to their studies.
Students are trained to become academic professionals equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to the sustainability transition. Sustainability is addressed in many courses within the faculty because it is an integral part of legal practice. Consider the Urgenda case, where the concept of tort was applied to climate change. The minor "Tax and Society: Building a Sustainable and Fair Tax System" is a minor that specifically explores societal and sustainable aspects of the global tax system.
