Our Conferences

The Global Transformations and Governance Challenges Programme hosts a range of international academic gatherings, including the GTGC Conference, the GIG-ARTS Conference in 2024, and the first edition of the Just Peace Festival in 2025.

About the Just Peace Festival

In today’s interconnected world, where armed conflict, inequality, environmental threats, and social divides threaten democracy and global stability, the Just Peace Festival brings together citizens, experts, artists, policymakers, and activists.

Through interactive sessions, workshops, exhibitions, and performances, the festival celebrates efforts toward peace, fosters meaningful conversations, and inspires collective action.

The Just Peace Festival touches upon six themes:

  1. Peace and Justice
  2. Democracy
  3. Inclusion, (In)Equality and Diversity
  4. Climate and Resilience
  5. International Rule of Law
  6. (Cyber)Resilience

About the annual GTGC conference

The Hague is home to hundreds of embassies, government agencies, international organizations, NGOs, research institutes, and social movements, making it uniquely suited for an interdisciplinary, multi-stakeholder dialogue.

The proceedings include high-level practitioner roundtables, academic panel discussions, and book launch events. Receptions, lunches, and coffee breaks offer extensive networking opportunities.
