In collaboration with the collective Tierra de Nadie, BOCA invites you to an open mic session on May 27th at Scheltema (Leiden) starting from 18.30. This collaboration is translingual. So: lxs invitamos al open mic en español, wij nodigen jullie uit in het Nederlands, and we invite you in English! While it is not necessary to perform at the open mic to enjoy the event, we encourage written, musical, multilingual, performative, and, above all, collective artistic expressions. BOCA invites Leiden teaching staff and students to a final workshop on Friday May 23rd at Leiden University in The Hague to explore core questions to the project and our academic practice regarding effective ways of communicating knowledge. Pau(la) Chaves Bonilla aka La ChicaScratch is a choreographer, performance artist and queer grassroots organiser born and raised in Colombia and based in The Netherlands, co-founder of the Papaya Kuir collective led by Latinx trans and queer migrants/refugees. On the 1st and 14th of April, Paula Chaves will give a workshop inspired by philosophical concepts from Maria Lugones, Glora Anzaldúa, Fred Moten and Stefano Harney, focused on creating an immersive and experiential opportunity to unravel the potency of the body as source of knowledge.
