Panel proposals

Pre-arranged panels with max. six participants divided into max. two sections had to be sent as a pdf file by 31 January 2023 with the following information:

  • The proposal should clearly outline the title, the themes and objectives of the pre-arranged panel. The proposal should also lay out how the proposed participants will discuss and approach the themes of the panel. It is essential that the individual presentations of a panel are on a related topic.
  • The names of max. six participants who have accepted to be part of the panel.
  • Abstracts of the individual papers to be presented at the panel (1500 characters each).

All proposed panels and their individual papers are subject to the usual review process by the academic committee, which reserves the right to suggest related participants to the panel organiser in addition to the proposed speakers.

Dissertation award

On the occasion of the ECIS 10, the fifth edition of the "European Award of Iranian Studies" will be awarded for an outstanding Ph.D. (or equivalent) dissertation, published or unpublished, in any field of Iranian Studies, completed and successfully defended at any European academic institution between 1 January 2019 and 31 December 2022.

The members of the selection committee are the members of the board of the SIE. The board reserves the right to invite the views of external adjudicators.
