Carola Schoor is programme leader Politics and Administration at the Centre for Professional Learning (CPL) of Leiden University, Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs. In 2020 she obtained her PhD (cum laude) on the subject of Political Style. Previously, she held various positions in the political and administrative domain: she was a senior Public Affairs advisor for the Association of Dutch Universities (VSNU), she worked in Brussels as a press officer for a Dutch Member of the European Parliament and in The Hague as an educational journalist.

Besides programme manager, Carola Schoor is active as a researcher and trainer/advisor in Political Style. Based on her dissertation, she developed a model that is helpful for political communication advisors to better match the political style of their politicians. Politicians and governors can use the model to gain more insight into their style, in order to further developing their authentic style.

Finally, Carola Schoor chairs the PrinsjesRede committee, an annual competition for political speeches. This is part of the Prinsjesfestival that yearly celebrates democracy every year in the week surrounding the Dutch State of the Union (Prinsjesdag).

Carola Schoor regularly publishes for an academic as well as a wider audience.
