Quantitative Biology
Quantitative biology means exploiting mathematical modelling and computer simulation as a tool to gain additional insights into the meaning of experimental data. Discover in this minor when and how to apply these tools, in a multidisciplinary setting.
Is this the right minor for you?
This minor is the right one for you if you are happy with learning how to combine topics from various disciplines in science (e.g. biology, physics, mathematics, computer science) with the aim of gaining deeper understanding of Life's dynamic processes. You will need to work in multidisciplinary teams at times. Moreover, you should be willing to pick up the challenge of working with mathematical formulas, making use of computer programs for simulation, or reading papers from disciplines other than the one you are studying: e.g. biophysics, bioinformatics, cellular physiology or molecular biology.
