The office of Leiden University in Indonesia is currently looking for a dynamic and experienced Education & Academic Support Officer to join our team at the Office of Leiden University in Indonesia.

In 1969, the KITLV-Jakarta office was established in co-operation with the Indonesian Institute of Sciences, now BRIN). Since July 2014, it is part of Leiden University Libraries. Its main activities are collections development, digitization, and publishing. It also has a library and reading room, containing major reference works with fast access to the library of Leiden University catalogues.

Since October 2015, the KITLV-Jakarta office also doubles as the representative Office of Leiden University in Indonesia. It facilitates and initiates academic collaboration with Indonesian universities, research institutes, and relevant ministries. It also provides information on international study programmes offered by Leiden University.

The office is located in Kuningan, South Jakarta area.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of academic gatherings, fostering cooperation between Leiden University and Indonesian higher education and research institutes. Additional responsibilities include providing information on the international academic programs offered by Leiden University and maintaining relationships and network with relevant local education institutes.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Academic Coordinator in maintaining, extending, and matching academic relationships between Indonesia and Leiden University counterparts, scientists, researchers, international relations offices, goverment officials, and relevant entities.
  • Assist in the planning of academic gatherings including lectures, workshops, and seminars.
  • Provide logistic support for incoming and outgoing delegations.
  • Promote and facilitate cooperation between LeidenUniversity and selected Indonesia higher education and reserach institutes. 
  • Create enggaging content for various channels, including website, social media, press releases, and newsletters.
  • Provide upon request information about the international programs of Leiden University through information sessions, online and offline counseling. 

Requirement:

  • Minimal bachelor's degree (S1) in Marketing, Communication, or a related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Dutch and Indonesian higher education landscape.
  • Knowledgeable about the administrative system of Indonesia Higher Education is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in event organizing and public communication, preferably in the higher education field.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and operational expertise in online marketing, including social media, Google Analytics, and SEO.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven networking, presentation, communication, and event organizing skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional domestic travel.
  • Pro-active and outgoing personality.
