Petra van der Weel is Coordinator CWTS Office at the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) at Leiden University. Petra is taking care of the administrative processes related to human resources. She is also responsible for the administrative support of PhD candidates from the moment of registration until the PhD defence.

Petra is also the secretary of the Ethics Review Committee Social Sciences of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. The Committee’s main task is to review research proposals on criteria concerning ethically responsible scientific conduct within the Institutes of Cultural Anthropology and Developmental Sociology, Political Science and the Centre of Science and Technology Studies.
