Henrike Vellinga is a PhD researcher for the "Peace Movements Project" at the Institute for History. Her research explores peace movements in West-Africa in the 20th Century.
Research
My PhD research explores the connections between pan-Africanism and international peace movements in the mid-20th Century by studying anti-war and anti-nuclear campaigns in (post-)colonial West Africa. This research is part of the Peace Movements Project, led by dr. Carolien Stolte (see: https://peace.lucdh.eu/).
My research interests lie with global history, particularly the history of internationalism and decolonisation. I work with digital history methods to uncover new insights about the Cold War networks of peace.
