In 2020, Carolina completed a bachelor’s degree in Law at the Católica University of Oporto Faculty of Law. In the same year she started a master's degree in European Private Law at the University of Amsterdam. During her master’s, she developed an interest for academic research within the field of private law. Her previous research work had a legal-ethical and philosophical scope and focused Human Rights in private law. At present, she is pursuing her research interests, as a full-time PhD Candidate at the University, within the Institute of Private Law.

The proposed research analyses the suitability of the one-size-fits-all model of consumer laws, in the age of digitalisation, platformisation and sustainability. Carolina's research falls under the Vici funded project 'These Shoes Don’t Fit! – How can consumer interests be protected when consumer identities are increasingly diffuse?'.
