Dr. Kurban is a political scientist specialising in party politics, democratic theory, and the transformation of political organizations in the digital age. He recently completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Amsterdam (European Studies), continues as a visiting researcher at the ARTES Research Centre, and is currently a Lecturer at Leiden University. His most recent research examines how movement-parties institutionalize participatory and deliberative practices under electoral and governance pressures, with work published in journals including Party Politics.
