Stars can vibrate at their resonant frequencies. Such frequencies contain information about the inside of the star. Just as for musical instruments, the 'sound' is determined by the size and structure of the object. The researchers will develop a new statistical method that will allow a large population of vibrating stars to be studied concomitantly.
