Academy of Creative and Performing Arts appoints new professors
Dr. Janneke Wesseling, dr. Marcel Cobussen and dr. Henk Borgdorff now hold chairs at the Academy of Creative and Performing Arts
As of 1 February 2016 Janneke Wesseling, Marcel Cobussen and Henk Borgdorff have been appointed professors at the Academy of Creative and Performing Arts, Faculty of Humanities.
Prof.dr. Janneke Wesseling
Janneke Wesseling holds the chair Practice and Theory of Research in the Visual Art and Design.
Janneke Wesseling is Lecturer arts and research at the University of the Arts, The Hague, art critic at NRC Handelsblad and co-director of PhDArts, doctoral programme for visual art and design. She obtained her PhD in 2013 at Leiden University with the thesis The Perfect Spectator, with as its main subject reception esthetics.
Prof.dr. Marcel Cobussen
Marcel Cobussen holds the chair Auditive Culture.
Marcel Cobussen is University Lecturer at Leiden University, jazz musician and philosopher and for years has been connected to docARTES, doctoral programme in musical arts; also, he is founder and editor-in-chief of the open access, online Journal of Sonic Studies. He obtained his PhD in 2002, graduating cum laude at Erasmus University Rotterdam on his thesis Deconstruction in Music.
Prof.dr. Henk Borgdorff
Henk Borgdorff holds the chair Theory of Research in the Arts.
Henk Borgdorff is Lecturer research in the arts at the University of the Arts, The Hague, music theoretician and philosopher, and former guest professor at the University of Gothenburg. He was co-founder of and teacher at docARTES, doctoral programme in musical arts, and is currently president of the Society for Artistic Research. In 2012 he obtained his PhD at Leiden University, cum laude, on the thesis The Conflict of the Faculties. Perspectives on Artistic Research and Academia.
They will join the current team of professors, consisting of:

- Prof.dr. Joep Bor (Extra European Performing Arts)
- Prof.dr. Ton Koopman (Historically informed performance practice)
- Prof.dr. Gerard Unger (Typographic design)
