In a classroom course, the teacher and all students are present in the classroom.
Course description
Would you like to improve your fluency in Dutch? In this course, you will work on increasing your vocabulary and oral communication skills. Where necessary, you will also improve your Dutch pronunciation and intonation.
In the course, we will discuss current topics, and alternate this with exercises for promoting fluency. Every week has its own theme. Participants should take into account one hour of preparation per week.
For this language course, you need to have a good command of Dutch. This course focuses on improving and perfecting your fluency in Dutch.
Target group and admission requirements
This course is intended for adults with a higher education diploma, including both students and staff members of Leiden University, as well as other interested parties with no connection to Leiden University.
The course is intended for people with an extensive basic knowledge of Dutch: people who completed the Dutch 4 course or a comparable course at another language institute. Participants who have not completed such a course are required to complete an entrance test to determine whether their level is sufficient. Course participants are expected to have a proactive attitude and to prepare the classes at home. Per class, you should reserve approximately one hour a week of preparation time.
Other information
- The maximum number of participants for this course is 18.
- The holiday periods can be found in the Academic Language Centre’s academic calendar.
- If classes are cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, they will be added on to the end of the course. Please take into account that this may lead to the course ending a week later.
- The course level is indicated in terms of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
