COUNTERRR Project Launch
On 13 November 2025, the project team and experts on insurgency and counterinsurgency across Africa and beyond came together in The Hague to discuss current trends in research on government and community responses to jihadist insurgencies in Africa.
Colleagues from political science, history, anthropology and African studies from Leiden University, other universities in the Netherlands, and beyond discussed their research experiences and findings, and provided ideas and advice on how to move the field of studying insurgency and counterinsurgency in Africa forward.
