The carnivore diet, a fact or just a trend?

There is a long trend of looking to the past to try to determine what the "best" diet is. Recently the "Carnivore diet" has been making the rounds on social media, in which influencers argue that our ancestors ate almost exclusively meat, and therefore that is what we should be eating, too.

In two recent interviews, Dr. Amanda Henry reflected on what the archaeological data actually tell us about what foods were eaten in the past. It's clear that plants have always been an important part of human diets, and, though meat was also important, it is unlikely to be the key to human evolution.
