On 10 April 2017, the Global Trade and Customs Journal published Richard Jaing’s article entitled 'Should the WTO Allow China to Impose Export Duties Designed to Combat Climate Change?

In his article, Richard seeks to answer the question of whether the WTO should rule in favour of China’s export duties by drawing attention to an issue unaddressed in China – Raw Materials and China – Rare Earths, namely the potential of China’s export duties to curb carbon leakage.

Jiang Fengan (Richard) works as a PhD fellow at the Europe Institute at University Leiden since 2014 (China Scholarship Council Scholarship). His PhD research is supervised by Marco Bronckers, Professor of WTO Law and European Law.
