As the world navigates complex dynamics, the International Criminal Court (ICC) stands as a beacon of accountability tasked with prosecuting individuals for the gravest crimes. At the same time, the ICC confronts an array of contemporary hurdles, ranging from questions of admissibility to critiques of efficacy. The "Contemporary Issues Facing the International Criminal Court" panel discussion will delve into some of these critical challenges, with our speakers engaging in thought-provoking discussions on a range of topics:

This event is a Supranational Criminal Law (SCL) lecture given within the framework of the 2024 IBA ICCMCC.

The SCL Lecture Series is a series on international criminal law and has been organised, since 2003, by the Asser institute, the Coalition for the ICC and the Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies of Leiden University.

This event is moreover organised within the framework of the International Bar Association International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition.
