Met ingang van 1 september 2015 is Isabelle Duyvesteyn benoemd tot hoogleraar ‘Global History’. Zij is aangesteld bij het Instituut voor Geschiedenis. Ze zal gaan doceren aan de bacheloropleiding International Studies en de masteropleiding International Relations.

Op 11 juni 2020 verdedigde Sabine Witting haar proefschrift 'Child Sexual Abuse in the Digital Era: Rethinking Legal Frameworks and Transnational Law Enforcement Collaboration'. Het promotieonderzoek is begeleid door promotoren prof.mr. J.J. Sloth-Nielsen en prof.dr.mr. S. van der Hof.

De Faculteit Governance and Global Affairs is op zoek naar een nieuwe beleidsmedewerker. Het gaat om de functie van Senior beleidsmedewerker Onderwijs en Hoofd cluster Onderwijs op de Haagse Faculteit. Solliciteren kan tot en met 11 september 2017.

The aim of our research program is to better understand the aetiology and course of mood, anxiety and trauma and stressor-related disorders and to test and improve treatments for these disorders.

In this thesis, I study 1) metabolic alterations in tuberculosis related to wasting syndrome in human patients as well as in rodent and fish animal models. 2) effects of the mutation of the leptin gene on cachexia and diabetes in rodent and zebrafish animal models.

Per 20 januari 2014 is Prof.dr. Roberta D'Alessandro, werkzaam aan het Leiden University Centre for Linguistics, benoemd tot lid van de Global Young Academy (GYA). De GYA is een platform voor excellente jonge wetenschappers uit heel de wereld en bestaat momenteel uit 155 leden.

Yvonne Erkens, universitair hoofddocent bij de afdeling sociaal recht, is dit voorjaar benoemd als Global Law professor aan de Katholieke Universiteit van Leuven.

Op 13 oktober 2021 verdedigde Ross Spence het proefschrift 'Collateral Transactions and Shadow Banking'. Het promotieonderzoek is begeleid door promotoren prof.mr. M. Haentjens en prof.dr. A.M. Pacces (UvA).

Marjo de Graauw, adviseur onderwijsinnovatie en docent heeft de Turnitin Global Innovation Award gewonnen voor haar grote en enthousiaste inzet voor onderwijsvernieuwing- en verbetering.

Dr. Jos Gommans is per 1 juli 2011 bij de Faculteit der Geesteswetenschappen benoemd tot hoogleraar Colonial and Global History. Gommans was al werkzaam bij de Universiteit Leiden, als hoofddocent bij het Instituut Geschiedenis.

We have studied shape with a particular focus on the zebrafish model system. The shape is an essential appearance of the phenotype of a biological specimen and it can be used to read out a current state or response or to study gene expression.

In populations with a seed-bank, individuals can temporarily become dormant and refrain from reproduction until they can become active again.
