The Cancer Drug Target Discovery Group of Prof. Dr. Erik Danen studies mechanisms of drug resistance and metastasis, the two major aspects of cancer mortality. Multi cell type 3D co-culture models are explored through perturbations of gene expression and function (CRISPR-Cas), biochemical analyses, “omics” approaches, and cutting edge (real time) microscopy. Key findings are followed by in vivo and clinical validation studies. A major current focus of the lab is on mechanical remodeling of the tumor microenvironment and tumor immune interactions.
The successful candidate will work in the Danen group - an international team of PhD students and postdocs - and interact with other academic researchers and technicians in the Drug Discovery and Safety Division of LACDR. He/she will support the group with organization and development of key research tools and technical support. Specific tasks include:
- Advanced tissue culture and molecular cloning;
- Creation and registration of cell banks and stocks;
- Creation, maintenance and reporting of reagents stocks;
- Managing laboratory equipment;
- Conducting training and introduction of techniques to new employees and students.
