On June 26-28, 2024, the Annual Conference of the International Society for the Study of Medieval Theology will take place. The theme this year is "The End: Finiteness, Death and Completion in Medieval Theology". Deadline for paper proposals: 20 December 2023.
The aim of this workshop is to open up the discussion of textual communities in Late Antiquity and the early Middle Ages, by offering a platform for PhD students from all over the world and from various disciplines to present their own research and discuss it with others. Deadline: April 23.

Workshop, 21-22 June On 21-22 June, Dr. C.V. Weeda (Leiden University) and Marie-Louise Leonard (University Ca’ Foscari Venezia) organize a workshop on Worker's health and material environment in Port Cities. The workshop focuses on interdisciplinary discussion. ReMA-students are given the opportunity to participate in organising the workshop, attending the sessions and contributing to the discussions. There is a written assignment, to be submitted after the workshop (1500 words). Participation in the organisation is 2 ECTS; the written assignment is a further 1 ECTS.

The XIIth Annual Conference of LECTIO in 2023 will examine the foundation and first centuries of the University of Louvain as a unique crossroads of the transfer of texts, ideas, and images between Antiquity, Middle Ages, and Renaissance. It serves as a stepping stone for the celebrations of 600 years KU Leuven in 2025. Deadline: 15 march
This symposium (May 22) will explore topics such as the loss of and damage done to medieval manuscripts in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries through an interdisciplinary set of papers. Speakers will highlight projects aimed at identifying and rehabilitating damaged manuscripts and archives, and will explore topics such as wartime manuscript loss, theft, and the deliberate dismemberment of manuscripts for resale. Registration is free but necessary.
The 7th European Congress of Medieval Studies of the Fédération Internationale des Instituts d’Études Médiévales (FIDEM) will be organized by the Department of Arts, Media, and Philosophy of the University of Basel, Switzerland. There is a number of slots for papers (20 minutes) and special sessions (90 minutes). Proposals should be submitted to Prof. Maarten J.F.M. Hoenen at fidem@unibas.ch by 30 April, 2023.
