Basic knowledge of calculus (derivative, integral, simple differential equations) and thermodynamics (concepts of first law and second law, properties of fluids, heat effects). This course targets students who are in the last phase of or have completed a bachelor in engineering, science.

Toetsing

De toetsing voor dit vak bestaat uit twee tentamenmomenten: één tussentijds tentamen (precieze datum volgt nog) en een schriftelijk eindtentamen (precieze datum volgt nog).

Beide tentamen duren 3 uur, en zullen bestaan uit open vragen. Het tussentijdse tentamen telt voor 30% mee voor het eindcijfer. Het eindtentamen zal gaan over alle modules (dus de beide MOOCs) en telt voor 70% mee voor het eindcijfer. Het is mogelijk om de eindtoets te herkansen (precieze datum voor de herkansing volgt nog).

Participants in this course are expected to be enrolled in or have completed a bachelor in science, technology, engineering or maths.

Toetsing

Assignments and Examination.

The assignments are conducted using a way of working which is called a project relay. The project relay consists of 5 self-paced assignments that follow on from each other.

Students have to pass the relay as well as the examination to pass the course. The final grade is the examination grade.

Two hour written examination with open questions. The exam will be organized locally at your university and will be held at the same moment for all students from the participating universities.

First exam opportunity: Mid-May, 2019. Starting-time will be 9am CEST.

Second exam opportunity: June, 2019. Starting-time will be 9am CEST.
In case one fails the first exam, a second opportunity is scheduled.
