How to prepare

You may want to prepare before the program actually starts. This will increase your chances of successfully completing the program.

We regularly encouter new students who lack experience with computer programming or scientific research. When either (or both) applies to you, then you should prepare seriously.

Computer programming

You need not be a skilled programmer when you enter our program, but beginner-level programming skills are expected. Specifically, you should be able to write and execute code in an imperative programming language. See our page on learning computer programming for suggestions.

Science and research

Students with prior knowledge of fundamental research typically do better. In particular, if your bachelor program was not science-oriented (like a Dutch HBO program, applied sciences program, or design-oriented program), then we expect you to read-up on science before you enter the program.
