Tijl van Straten

Tijl van Straten lectures on International Business Law at Rotterdam Business School and works as a researcher at the Research-centre for Entrepreneurship & Business Innovation at Rotterdam University.
Tijl is a Marie Curie Fellow at The Graduate Institute Geneva and currently works on his research project at the Leiden University - Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs.
Tijl holds a graduate degree in International and European Law with a specialization in Trade and Investment Law of the Amsterdam Graduate Law School and a graduate degree in Humanities - Art & Culture of the University of Leiden. He is trained as a professional Mediator and Negotiator for International Business Deals at Harvard Law School.
Tijl started his career as an Asset and Fund Manager and worked for over 10 years for institutional investors. Before joining the Centre his professional experience included academic research activities on Law and Finance and work as a strategic policy advisor for government and the non-profit sector.
Tijl is a passionate sailor, plays rugby sevens and does endurance sports.
