Zexu Guan is a PhD candidate at the Leiden University Centre for the Arts in Society.
I focus on the intersection of gender studies and media studies in China. By exploring the daily practices of beauty bloggers, my current research investigate how the new media industry shapes the gendered labor and how these female laborers react to the neoliberal Internet world.
