External PhD candidate/guest
Yuxuan Lei is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Public Administration. Under supervision of Prof. Bernard Steunenberg and Dr. Rik de Ruiter. Yuxuan’s PhD project is Political Factors Affecting Legislative Decision-making Speed in the EU funded by CSC-Leiden University joint scholarship programme. In her research she focuses on studying the internal and external determinants of EU decision-making speed, especially the external factors, such as why and how the interest group/ lobbying affect the EU decision-making speed.
Yuxuan obtained her Bachelor and Master’s degree in Management from China. In her Master she specialized in Government Performance Evaluation, in particular Data Mining, Indicator Design and Evaluation, including use of empirical research method.
Her research interest involved EU Governance, EU Politics and Policy, EU decision-making and Policy Implementation, as well as comparing EU decision-making process with Chinese decision-making process.
