Research

My research aims to correct a bias against researching Early Prehistoric low density surface site within the framework of CRM-archaeology. I hope to achieve this by developing a staged method of investigating buried landscapes, specigically geared towards low-density hunter gather sitesand landscapes.

This is necessary because the Dutch approach of prospecting for large settlement sites with featuresand of an archaeological layer, borne from the archaeological research tradition in the Netherlands, is wholly unsuited for the purpose of peospecting for lithic scatters and landscapes.

The new method aims to provide a reliable tool to assess the archaeological potential of low-density hunter gatherer sites in a predictable and cost-effective way.
