Teacher / Researcher
Wouter Boekel investigates teleological aspects of physiological synchrony in the Comparative Psychology & Affective Neuroscience group. In his research he attempts to formulate scientifically motivated answers to the questions of why humans have evolved mechanisms for physiological synchronization, and what effects can be expected from increased acceleration of this mechanism. Wouter supervises students on the pre-university, bachelor, master, and PhD level, and his work contains a strong focus on methods for increasing scientific reliability and clarity. He specializes in time-series analyses, especially on data drawn from dyadic measurements.
