More information about Warisa Bunmahotama

Professional experience

Warisa received his BSc degree in Chemistry in 2007 and her MSc degree in Environmental Engineering in 2009 at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi. During her PhD at National Cheng Kung University, Warisa specialized in Data Modeling and obtained a keen interest in the Quantitative structure–activity relationship models.
She performed two major projects during her PhD focusing on i) model prediction of the adsorption of organic pollutants based on the Quantitative Structure–Activity Relationship and ii) model prediction of the adsorption of organic pollutants in natural waters.

Warisa started as a Postdoc researcher at the Department of Environmental Biology of CML in March 2020.

Research topic

Warisa’s research is focused on developing and validating the model prediction of ecotoxicity of nanomaterials based on the Quantitative Structure–Activity Relationship. Generally, the ecotoxic effects and mechanisms of nanomaterials are influenced by molecular structure such as dissolution and surface reactivity. The aim of Warisa’s project is to distinguish the effects of molecular structures, using Quantitative Structure–Activity Relationship, with all engineered nanomaterials that occur in the field.
