General
Vera Oosterhuis has been working as a PhD Candidate at the Institute of Criminal Law and Criminology since February 2021.
She completed her BA Criminology at Leiden University in 2018, while also attending the Honours College Law track. After this she continued with a MSc in Forensic Criminology. She wrote her thesis about the cross-ethnic validity of risk screening in youth delinquents and graduated cum laude in 2020.
Research
Vera is part of a research group that evaluates a new Dutch law for forensic care (Wet forensische zorg). Her research will focus mainly on a specific article of that law that connects criminal law with civil law in terms of mental health care. The aim of this article is to promote continuity of care and diversion.
