PhD thesis working title: From Ceasefires to Sustainable Peace: Does Process Design Matter?
Valerie Sticher is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs. In her dissertation project, she explores how ceasefires play a transformative role in peace processes.
Valerie also works as a senior program officer with the Mediation Support Project (MSP) at the Center for Security Studies (CSS), ETH Zurich. There she focuses on mediation training and process support, with a current emphasis on Zimbabwe. She holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from Leiden University. Valerie has previously served as Political Affairs Officer for the United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste and speaks English, German, French and Indonesian.
