Fields of interest

  • Biogeography
  • Human-environment interactions
  • Drivers of biological, linguistic and cultural diversity
  • Social-ecological systems
  • Geospatial analysis

My research focuses on human-environment interactions in South America (North-West Amazon) and across islands worldwide. I study how geography, ecology and climate have shaped human migration and land use. In addition, I aim to understand the biodiversity and linguistic legacies of past environmental dynamics and human activities.
