Sabrina Otterloo is communications adviser at the department of Marketing & Communications. She is responsible for the development and coordination of its online communications strategy in regard to the research and educational programmes, events, and marketing activities. She is also the Faculty's alumni coordinator.
Sabrina Otterloo is content manager of the Faculty’s social media and internal e-newsletter and involved in projects concerning science communication. To faculty and external staff she frequently offers the workshop ‘How to write a scientific blog’.
Sabrina Otterloo studied History at Leiden University and did a minor Journalism and New Media. She did her undergraduate research at the University of Texas at Austin, US. She graduated in 2007 on her thesis “The War on Walter Lippmann. How President Lyndon B. Johnson Handled His First among Critics”. Subsequently she worked as public information officer and web editor at a government agency and as researcher at Leiden University on a project on democracy and political terrorism in Louisiana after the American Civil War.
