Short CV

Dr. Roberta Sellaro graduated in Psychology at the University of Padova (Italy) in 2007. In 2009 she moved to the Center for Mind and Brain Sciences (CIMeC) of the University of Trento (Italy) where, in 2013, she obtained her PhD in Cognitive and Brain Sciences. She joined the Cognitive Psychology Unit of the Leiden University in September 2013. Currently she is Assistant Professor at the Cognitive Psychology Unit of the Leiden University and she is part of the ERC-funded MetaControl research group of Bernhard Hommel.


She is interested in investigating the role of several factors (e.g., environmental factors, task-specific features and individual differences) in modulating individual metacontrol policies (biases towards persistence or flexibility) and social functioning by means of behavioral, computational and neuroscientific techniques, and virtual reality methods.
