Özge Koca is a PhD candidate in the unit Developmental and Educational Psychology of the Institute of Psychology at Leiden University. 

She obtained her master degree in Special and Inclusive Education at the University of Bristol with an educational grant from the Turkish Ministry of Education. In September 2018 she joined the Focus on Emotions research group, led by Prof. Dr. Carolien Rieffe, which focuses on social emotional functioning in children who have limited access to the social environment.

Özge's current research focuses on identifying social and environmental factors to promote better social participation of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders in mainstream schools. She is supervised by Prof. Dr. Carolien Rieffe and Prof. Dr. Berna Güroğlu.
