Nienke Bos is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Political Science of Leiden University since September 2014. Her research concentrates on party ban initiations in European democracies. It addresses relevant conditions for party ban initiations, but also the institutional design of democracies and the consequences of party bans for democracies.
Nienke obtained a MSc (2014) in Comparative and European Politics at Radboud University Nijmegen, and a BA (2012) in philosophy. Her master thesis deals with party ban initiations in The Netherlands and Germany. She also did two honours programmes, a research internship at the Dutch house of representatives, and research on the Greek Golden Dawn party at the Dutch Institute in Athens.
