Since September 2012 Nathalie Koster works as a PhD student at Leiden University.
Nathalie Koster studied Criminology at Leiden University. She graduated in the specializations of Safety policy and Law enforcement and Forensic Criminology in 2011. Thereafter she worked as a consultant at the municipality Hoorn for the Safety house West-Friesland and as a researcher at the Dutch Violent Offences Compensation Fund. Since September 2012 she works as a PhD student at Leiden University. Her research focuses on the evaluations of crime victims (domestic burglary and violent crimes) of the police response in their case and its consequences on victims’ perceptions of police legitimacy and their willingness to cooperate with the police in case of future victimization. She applies several research techniques in her research, among which quantitative and qualitative interviews and a vignette experiment.
