Myriam Benraad is a political scientist, she holds a Ph.D. from the Paris Institute of Political Studies and has taught in a variety of institutions and universities.Her current research focuses on social movement theory, political sociology (sociology of emotions) and political psychology by emphasizing their interactions with political violence and security, and jihadism, terrorism and insurgency more particularly.

Her publications include Capturing the Islamic State’s Words (Armand Colin, 2017) and Iraq, the Revenge of History. From Foreign Occupation to the Islamic State (Vendémiaire, 2015). Her current research focuses on social movement theory, political sociology (sociology of emotions) and political psychology by emphasizing their interactions with political violence and security, and jihadism, terrorism and insurgency more particularly.
