Short CV

Miranda Jansen is a (Science) Communication Adviser at the Institute of Biology Leiden. Miranda develops and implements a new communication policy for the institute. She also cooperates with the Science Communication & Society cluster to embed knowledge about science communication in the daily practice.  

Miranda has a background in science communication and science education. In her previous employment as science communicator she developed a coherent outreach programme consisting of educational materials (Backstage in je brein!), workshops and an educational website (kijkinjebrein.nl) together with scientists at the Brain and Development Research Center (Leiden University), supervised by Prof. Dr. Eveline Crone. Before that, she temporarily fulfilled the position of Science Communication Advisor at Leiden University. She also developed educational materials on science education at De Praktijk for many years.
