Martha Kapazoglou is a PhD candidate on the project 'Prototyping Welfare in Europe' where she focuses on urban Greece, exploring social welfare experiments that involve diverse state and societal actors. She received her BA from Davidson College, North Carolina, in Political Sciences and Russian Studies.

After receiving her BA, Martha completed her Research Master’s degree in International Development Studies at the University of Amsterdam. Her dissertation, Uncharted territory: the Greek household and its survival strategies, centered around the lived experiences of Thessaloniki women during the austerity era to study emerging household resilience strategies.

Martha is a reflective researcher, grounded in relational ontologies and feminist epistemologies, with a passion for storytelling. She regularly draws on family experiences and stories for inspiration with the intention to challenge the emic-etic dialectic and the line between personal and academic.

Outside academia, Martha has acquired significant experience as a knowledge valorization and management officer in the field of sustainable development.
