Laura Lancée MA, LL.M is Head of the Meijers Research Institute and Graduate School since May 2019.
However, Laura is not new at Leiden Law School, she was policy officer and head a.i. at the Meijers Institute from 2002 until 2009, and project advisor at the Van Vollenhoven Institute from 2015 until 2018. In between she worked at NWO, coordinating funding schemes and assessment rounds of Euro-Indian and Chinese projects, and at The Hague Institute for Global Justice, in the position of development officer.
She is a two-time Leiden alumnus, with a Master in Indonesian Language and Culture, and an LL.M in criminal law. During her career Laura specialized in international multi-stakeholder project management and network building, bringing together knowledge, policy and societal actors (a.o. NGO’s, state agencies and academia) with the aim to solve problems in the field of law and governance. She has worked on projects in Asia, Africa and Eastern-Europe.
