Katharina Wehebrink is a PhD candidate at the Cognitive Psychology unit under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bernhard Hommel and Dr. Mariska Kret. In her PhD project she investigates social cognition deficits in patients with mental disorders. During her Research Master’s program in Psychology at the University of Amsterdam she was already exploring the relationship between pupil mimicry and trust deficits in depression at the University Hospital in Muenster (Germany). In the future, she wants to extend her previous findings and explore social deficits in different mental disorders (i.e. major depressive disorder, anxiety disorder and autism) by making use of biophysiological and neuroscientific measurements (i.e. EMG, pupillometry, fMRI). Next to her scientific work, she is also following a clinical traineeship in cognitive behavioural therapy.
