After completing her Bachelors in Consciousness Studies at the University of Skövde, Sweden, Josefine Karlsson received her MSc. degree in Cognitive Science at the University of Amsterdam. During her research master, Josefine focused on psycho-neurolinguistics and developed a strong interest for research in reading development.
In March 2012 she started her PhD-position at the Brain and Education Lab under supervision of Prof. Paul van den Broek and Dr. Linda van Leijenhorst at Leiden University.

Research
Josefine studies the cognitive and neurological development in children in relation to learning academic skills. Josefine want to contribute in answering questions such as “How does the working memory develop and at what ages and in which types of tasks do we find individual differences?”
