Joachim Nieuwland is working on his PhD project ‘One Health as a normative concept’, supervised by Prof. Dr. R.H.A. Corbey and Dr. B.J.E. Verbeek of Leiden University and Dr. F.L.B. Meijboom of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Utrecht University. The research, funded by
Arcus Foundation (New York) addresses the normative dimension of multispecies approaches to health, such as One Health, and the implications for the health and welfare of wildlife, in particular non-human primates in the wild.
Joachim Nieuwland has received both a master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine at Utrecht University, and in Philosophy at Tilburg University.
