Theories of causation play an important role in contemporary metaphysics and philosophy of science. This project aims at using the existing theoretical background to think through the relation between causation and perception. More specifically, it will examine whether perceptual concepts and empirical concepts are causal concepts, and what this means for the epistemology and metaphysics of causations.
In 2015, Jieya Chi received Master of Philosophy at Zhejiang University in China. After graduating, she was granted a PhD grant from the Chinese Scholarship Council. From September 2015, she is working as a PhD candidate at the Institute for Philosophy at Leiden University.
